The area to the east of the Annapurna massif contains the peaks of the Manaslu group. Besides Manaslu, the most prominent of the peaks are Buddha Himal Chuli, both of which can be seen from many viewpoints between Kathmandu and Pokhara.
This part of Nepal sees relatively few trekkers, which makes a visit here all the more unique and unspoiled. There are only a few established trekking routes but the opportunity for exploration is always possible. The area in question is bordered by two major river systems. To the east the Budi Gandaki and the west Marshyangdi Khola. Of great interst is the town of Gorkha , the ancestral seat of the reigning Shah dynasty, and the temple of Manakamana , one of the most popular pilgrimage sites of Hindu devotees.
